IATF 16949 & ISO 9001
Each PTC plant operates under a documented corporate quality system based on both ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
Our quality processes are aimed at achieving customer satisfaction through prevention of nonconformity through all key processes, from order entry through delivery of product.
Plants supplying the automotive industry are registered to IATF 16949 in order to meet the additional requirements of OEM automotive customers.
These certifications demonstrate our commitment to customer satisfaction by establishing measurable objectives, identifying key organizational processes, continually improving process and product quality, and providing a framework for excellence.
The respective certification documents for each plant are posted below for viewing. Guide to certifications:
ISO 9001: The world’s best-known standard for quality management systems. Provides a model to follow for setting up an operating a (QMS), based on the plan, do, check, act cycle of continual improvement.
IATF 16949: an additional QMS standard issued by the International Automotive Task Force, based on ISO 9001, and including additional details and requirements of the automotive industry. Since it incorporates all of ISO 9001, certification to IATF 16949 includes ISO 9001, whether or not a separate certificate is issued. PTC plants supplying the automotive and light truck industries maintain certification to IATF 16949.
API: American Petroleum Institute issues detailed product standards and has a product-based auditsystem to certify compliance and grant the right to use the appropriate API monogram in product marking and labeling. The audits also include an examination of compliance with API’s Q1 QMS standard which is required to receive product certification. PTC Liberty maintains API 5L and 5CT certifications.
PED: EU & UK Pressure Equipment Directives. An additional certification of a quality management system based on ISO 9001, and meeting the requirements of Annex I, paragraph 4.3 of 2014/68/EU, and the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations (PER) 2016 Part 4 Materials, Clause 31. -(8).
